Allegro Bar & Grille – located in West Hempstead at 157 Hempstead Avenue – opened in late September, serving up “an Italian twist on American classics,” according to its website.
Its menu boasts several flatbreads, burgers, salads, and “small bites” like Italian egg rolls, empanada calzones, chicken wings, and housemade bruschetta.
Customers can also select from a number of beers, wines, and craft cocktails, including the largest selection of spritzes and espresso martinis in the Long Island/New York City area, owner Frankie De Lorenzo bragged on Facebook.
“Our menu blends the best of both worlds giving you American favorites with Italian flair,” he wrote. “The best part of it is we provide an upscale experience at a moderate price.”
Since launching, Allegro has garnered 3 out of 5 stars on Yelp, where John B., of Queens, raved that “everything was excellent.”
“I had the panini sandwich called the Frankie. I mean absolutely delicious,” he wrote. “The roasted peppers and mozzarella and steak was really really good. The service was right on. The atmosphere was laid back.”
Allegro Bar & Grille is open daily. Find out more on its website.
